Yellowstone 2015

Dear viewers you have no idea what it takes to keep up with Facebook and the blog.  It is 10:30PM and since we set up camp, other than dinner and a shower, I have been downloading pictures and deciding what to post. I hope to get this done within an hour so I can go to bed, a busy long day today but what a blessed birthday it was to see all the things we did.

Our travel partners Jim and Tracy Tull

Lee and I.  We left the Tetons at 9:00AM and drove to Virginia City, MT. We drove through Yellowstone to get here and stopped at as many sights as we could.  When you are in an RV there is not always room in the scenic pull outs for our rig. We arrived at our destination about 6:15 PM.

We saw a lot today.  Let's start with the animals.

Now that is a herd of buffalo

See all the little ones out there?
what a cutie
Our first elk sighting

What we really want to see now are the bears. We are hoping that will happen in Glacier.

See the fly fisherman

This falls was gorgeous

Read this  and then you will understand the following pictures.

Where once was a river and a campground is now just a lake after the land slide.

This is Earthquake Lake once a campground.
You can see where all the mountain slide off.

It was a cloudy day and we got rain off and on and sun off and on.
The following are some of the sights along our drive today. I don't care what the weather is nature has it's own unique beauty in each type of weather.

This is what I mean about cloudy days.  Sometimes it makes for very unique photos.

In addition to all these lovely sights we met up with Rick and Jan just outside of Yellowstone's west entrance and the 6 of us went out to lunch. We first met Rick and Jan in FL and have not seen them for a very long time. They are one of those couples we just connected with and would love to spend more time with but they spend the majority of their time in the west and we spend the majority of our time in the east. In the summer time Rick is a Ranger in Yellowstone park and Jan works in a nearby hotel.
Ready for lunch.
Nicky has decided that the passenger seat should be his.  As soon as I get out of it for any reason he gets in it.

It's been a great day --- I was really missing my family this morning but the Lord blessed me with good friends to share my birthday with so all and all it was a good day.

Tomorrow Virginia City, MT
