The day after the all day rain it was sunny and beautiful. We went to temple square in downtown Salt Lake City. The Mormon buildings take up at least 2 full city blocks. The area is so pristine and spotless. The buildings are open to the public at no cost and it was well worth the trip. We parked the jeep up on the hill by the capital building.
Old city hall was located across the street and is now the information center.
This is the Mormon administration building. There are 29 floors.
The Mormon Cathedral
The grounds and flowers are incredible.
Family is of ultimate importance to the Mormons
This is the plaque on the top of the Cathedral
Jim and Tracy Tull
This is the Lion House which was the first administrative building for the Mormons.
Notice the beehive on the top of the house.
Some of the rooms within the residence.
Oh how my mother would have loved all the flowers.
A huge conference center.
Inside the conference center.
There were 2 visitor centers there. The one concentrated on the Cathedral. The second one was all about Jesus. This is some of the artwork in the second visitor center.
This is Assembly Hall
We were able to attend a free organ concert that day. Have you ever seen organ pipes like that?
I think we can all agree with this statement.
Left the city and it was back to watching the sheep and the dogs.
