Canyonlands day 2 Needles area of park

Today we got up and left about 9:20 AM for Canyonlands. The park is about a 60 mile drive from here.It was a pretty drive and this time we came in the Needles entrance of the park.

This is Wilson's arch which we pass on the way to the park.

This was our first stop.

Lee and Tracy checking things out.

The Needles area of Canyonland.

That structure under the rock is where the free range cowboys used to store grain.

These are called mushroom rocks.

This is Cave Spring Trail and you are looking at one of the old cowboy camps. This is where they camped when they were moving cattle.

Under this rock ledge was also a spring.

As you can see this rock ledge extended fro some distance. That's Tracy and Lee hiking through the rock ledge.

This trail included 3 ladders we went up to capture the view above.

Looking down on all the mushroom rocks.

Nice view of the needles

This is called Wooden Shoe Arch.

Nice ride home and the end of another day of exploring.

Tomorrow we are heading towards Salt Lake.
