Bryce Canyon,UT day 3

The third day in Bryce we decided to hike Moss Cave and Falls trail.  It was a beautiful walk to the falls. After being in southern CA and Arizona it is so nice just to see water again.  The weather here is 72-80 degrees during the day and down to 37-42 degrees at night.

The four of us hiked the Mossy Cave trail and The Falls trail.

How nice to hear a babbling stream again.

Jim, Tracy and Lee peering into the cave.

After the 4 of us spent the morning hiking Tracy and I took off to hike the Navajo Trail. We start at the top at viewpoint Sunset point and go to the bottom of the canyon and then up. It was a beautiful hike walking us through the Hoodoos and through arches cut in the rock. All total Tracy and I walked 10 miles that day.

Tracy going through one of the arches we passed through.

The trail just kept weaving in and out of the Hoodoos

It's a totally different feeling looking up at the Hoodoos than it is looking down on them.

The colors change as the sun shifts in the sky.

We are entering a section of the trail called "The Queen's Garden".

Here we are weaving in between the Hoodoos

Getting closer to the bottom.

We were thankful for the shade of the Hoodoos it got hot that day.

I feel small.

Working our way back up.

Tracy and I named these "The wine Goblets"

Closer to the top

Still climbing up.

The rangers had just recently fortified this section of the trail.

Several crews out doing trail repair.

Last leg of the trail.  We made it.

Great day tired when we got home.  That night I spent going over pictures and downloading.
More tomorrow.

The Hoodoos are the big spiral rocks. As time goes by some deteriorate and others are born so it is an ever changing landscape.
