Thayne, WY / campground and Afton, WY

I love the Star Valley Ranch Resort in Thayne, WY. But........Do not come in May.  We have had nothing but rain and clouds for almost 2 weeks and without the sun it is still cold here.  We did manage to have a couple of decent days but not near the activity we had hoped for.

The setting is beautiful and the valley so gorgeous. The fields are filled with calves and newborn sheep. It's a beautiful sight.  The mountains are still snow covered which they weren't when Lee and I were here 5 years ago in August.

Even with the clouds, it is pretty.

The town of Afton is about 10 miles away.  We went there a couple of times for Doctor's appointments and out to breakfast.  We also picked up the new sway bar for the RV there at the Ford dealer.

These guys located in Afton are fantastic.  I was having some shoulder issues and had several visits with them.

It is so gorgeous here when the sun is out. We have been told that the best times to come are July and August.

Nicky has been very happy here.  Lots of fields to run and play in and enough Prairie dogs to keep him entertained.
