We are finally warm again and after 3 weeks of on and off rain we have had 2 good days in a row.
There are many roads and trails that are still not open yet in the park. I would not recommend coming here until the 3rd week in June or later when they have all roads and trails open.
We drove in today and looked at the things we could and we will go back into the park tomorrow and do some hikes. It is a gorgeous park and one of my favorites.
First thing that happen is this guy came up to me, grabbed me and kissed me!!!!

McDonald Lake
We were here 5 years ago so we were well aware of it's beauty.
The flowers are gorgeous and lots of them . This picture was taken at the McDonald Lodge.
This lodge is 100 years old.
Look at the writing above the fireplace in the lobby.
These are the original shuttle buses used in the park. They were totally refurbished,
It's spring and the falls and cascades are really ripping.
I look forward to hiking tomorrow. I hope the Lord gives us one more day without rain.

Virginia City MT
We arrived yesterday about 6PM . We set up camp and I worked on a Facebook and blog post for Yellowstone. I didn't get to bed until 1:30 AM so this will be short and sweet today.
About 9:30 the 4 of us went to Virginia City just 1 mile down the road. We toured around there until about 12:30 and then went over to Nevada City.
Both very interesting and tons of history.
Like going back in time.
The inside of some of the stores. What fun they are to look around in.
A lot of the things that are in there I remember. That's sick!!!! How can that be?
The old boarding house/ Hotel was pretty neat and still rented out and used today.
Model of the hanging house. Five men were hung here.
We went to the precise spot where gold was discovered.
NEVADA CITY
We had lunch at the Star Restaurant in Nevada City
This is unique that small tall building is a two story outhouse.
Jim and Lee checking out the old fire truck.

All kinds of ornate organs in the museum
Another really nice boarding house .
Can't believe what nice shape everything was still in.
How's that for a player piano?
Doesn't this look like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock movie?
Isn't he beautiful? These birds were all over these 2 small towns.
Tomorrow we leave for Hungry Horse where we have a park lined up. We will be doing Glacier Park and I'm sure a lot of hiking. It is a 300 plus mile trip tomorrow and I got very little sleep last night so I'm going to try to hit the sack early.
We had bright sunshine all day today the first time in three weeks it has been Heaven.
