Lava River Cave Bend Oregon

We left at 10:00 to hike the Lava River Cave. It is a tube created by lava flow. It was very interesting and about a mile long. You needed flashlights of course and I would recommend hiking boots also.

This is the entrance down into the cave.

You had to stoop down in some places.

Lee and I at the end of the trail.

Some scenes around the campground.

After the cave hike we all went to Red Robin restaurant along the river.  It was lovely.

Lovely place to have lunch and enjoy the view.

Today we drove the Cascade Lakes scenic by way.
It was about 96 degrees today but a lovely drive.

Devil's Lake

Elk Lake

Lave Lake
Little Cultus lake where we camped with our children 42 years ago.
Our tent was set up right here about 42 years ago.

This is where the children went down to the beach.

Big Cultus Lake

Wickiup Reservoir
The banks on this reservoir look as far down as they do in CA. Washington and Oregon have only gotten about 35% of their snow melt and lakes and reservoirs are down here.
