Leavenworth, WA

Mount Vernon was very hot and the electric was bad in the campground so we couldn't even run the air.  We actually had to turn on the generator to make toast in the morning.  We drove from Mount Vernon to the Thousand Trails Leavenworth campground.  We found a nice spot and then found out after getting all set up that the electric service there kept popping off and their was not enough power to run the air conditioner.  We stuck it out for 2 days with promises that it would be fixed tomorrow and we finally gave up and moved to a different spot.  The electric here has been great ---thank goodness because we have had temperatures of 104 already. We are here for 2 weeks and after that it is Mt. Rainer and Mt.St. Helen's and then off to the coast to cool down. The coast is never hot in WA or OR so we should be able to cool off.

We have been playing Pickle ball early in the morning before it gets hot.  We have done a nice hike and visited Leavenworth. We will spend a day at Wenatchee Lake some time this week.

Here are some of the wild flowers we have found in this part of WA.
The day before leaving Mt.Vernon Nicky, Lee and I took a 5 mile walk around this salt bay.
No shade and Nicky minded the heat by the time we were done.

I love to take pictures of old barns.

We drove to Leavenworth, a Bavarian town, and walked around.

Gorgeous flowers every where.

Between the colorful buildings and the flowers your eyes go crazy taking it all in.

My favorite building.

The Danish bakery our brother in law said we must go to.

You can see the town is nestled in the mountains.

The Christmas shop our sister said we must visit. Awesome

Inside the Christmas shop.

The whole town is candy to the eye.

We went on a hike that over looked Plain.  A small town outside the campground.

It was a steep climb but worth the view.

We drove to Crescent Bar a TT campground about 1 1/2 hours away to have lunch with them on July 4th. Here are some scenes along the way.

The Columbia River. The view from Will and Ella's camper.

Will and Ella's new Dutch Star RV.

Will and Ella looking great as usual.
Jim and Tracy were with us too.  On the way there we picked up some fantastic cherries.

This was a beautiful falls we stopped at on our way to Leavenworth campground.

Nicky and I going for our morning walk.

On the really hot days Nicky jumped in this canal.

What a pretty place to walk each morning.
One of the coolest hardware stores I have ever been to.  They have all kinds of things for women to look at in the front and the tools are in the back.  There is also a little coffee shop in there.

We found a really great church to attend in the town of Plain this morning.  A great sermon.

A great community of people in this valley.
That's all for now folks more later this week.
