The drive to Randle, which is where our campground is located was beautiful. The campground is very nice. It is an RPI park. It has an indoor hot tub and pool so first thing in the morning I can swim laps. It's great!!
Today we spent the day driving around Rainier NP . We made lots of stops along the way and we were gone for about 6 hours. We did several little hikes along the way to water falls and scenic points.
The first trail we went on was called "Grove of the Patriarchs". Some of the oldest and largest trees in the state of Washington are in this area.
You can tell how big these are if you have a person beside them.
Now you realize how big that tree is!!!
Lee could not get over the size of these trees.
How's that for a peaceful spot to hang for awhile?
How's that for a root?
Nicky would have loved this----N O T
On our way back out.
This is Cougar Falls it was close to the road.
Beauty any direction you looked.
This is Box Canyon and it reminded me of Marble Canyon in Canada.
That tunnel was really chiseled out of the rock.
The clouds just hung over the tops of the mountains.
Aren't the wild flowers gorgeous?
This is Reflections Lake.
Paradise Lodge
Narada Falls
Narada Falls the bottom looking up.
Just as we were leaving the park the clouds finally lifted off the top of the mountain and there was no place I could get a clear shot of it. Very frustrating.
Tomorrow we are going on a hike and Nicky can come with us this time.
