Lisbon, Portugal

Here we are on our way to our next port of call after a wonderful day in Lisbon, Portugal.
Tonight we plan to watch the movie on the deck featured above--Princess's outside theater.  As you relax in the lounge chairs the deck servers come around with warm blankets and pop corn and then they come around with pizza and they end with milk and cookies.

When we came into port this morning the 3 Royal ships were in--the Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth, and Queen Victoria. They pulled out just ahead of us.
We decided to tour the city by using the hop on hop off city tour bus.  In Portugal they are referred to as the Yellow bus.  We went with friends we had made on board., Judy and Al from Florida.
Lots of statutes and beautiful old buildings and very nice open court areas.  The difference here seems to be that you do not see a lot of restoration work.
This is Judy and Al our travel companions for the day.  We do hope to meet up with them when we go to Florida.
Thought the grandchildren would enjoy the art work here.
We have had unbelievable weather.  Sunshine everyday but one. I do so hope that all our friends and family are finally experiencing some warm weather.
St George's castle. The first fortification on the hill top dates back to second century BC.

This is one of the theater and arts buildings is Lisbon.
This much flare always indicates government doesn't it?

There is a lot of decorative rod iron work on the buildings. Why can we no longer make windows that are truly a work of art?
This is the prison.  Even that is quite a lovely work of art.
Lots of trolleys all over the city.
This is one of the many squares in the city.  All the sidewalks and center areas are all tile decorative work.
Narrow streets and outdoor cafes everywhere.  Many streets within the city are pedestrians only.
This is a really pretty church across from one of several parks within the city. As you can see this would really be incredible if it was cleaned but that kind of upkeep takes money the economy here is not in the best of shape.

Another courtyard area.
Here we are approaching Lisbon in the morning.
This is a spectacular view of the city as we pulled into port.
