Getting ready to tour Barcelona

 

Jim and Jane dropped us off in Murcia to pick up the train to Barcelona. We left at 9:45

AM and arrived there at 4:35 PM.  A long ride,and below are some pictures of the ride there. Love the fact that the beautiful mountains are always within viewing. We had 2 coffees on the train 3,80 euros. Guess it's best to remember ahead of time what food you may want to have on the train.  You sure do not want to buy it on the train. When we arrived we got a taxi to our room about a 10 min . drive and cost @ 10 euros. After dropping our luggage off and getting settled in the room we went for a short walk to see where we needed to be the next morning to pick up the hop on hop off bus.

We were 5 blocks from Placa Catalunya (the center of the old part of the city). There are 2 languages in Barcelona--Spanish and Catalunyian. Very similar but not the same.  Notice the scene above as seen on the train ride into Barcelona.  More windmills and solar fields!!! good for them why do wee Americans not have more.

The name of the hotel is Praktik Garden. They had a lovely facility.  A nice reception area, a nice room for coffee, tea and breakfast in the morning and 2 lovely outdoor terraces off the eating area to just relax in.

We had a nice size bedroom and bathroom.  A good comfortable bed and it was quiet gfor sleeping at night.
