Trip around America Nashville,TN

Our grandson Troy attends Lipscomb University in Nashville and he was our main reason for going there. What a lovely campus and we had 2 beautiful days there. Troy is an engineering major and working really hard. He is there on a soccer scholarship and he really has his work cut out for him because he has a really tough schedule. He's a very special young man and our prayers are with him always.
This is a picture of the capital building.  It is the second oldest working capital buildings in the USA.  The first is Annapolis.

This is Nicky and I outside the Parthenon in Nashville.  It is the only built to scale replica the the Greek Parthenon in the world.  Built in 1897 to celebrate their centennial.

When first built the Parthenon was surrounded by all of these other buildings. It now stands alone. Wonder what happen to all the others.
Gorgeous

This was a spectacular park. On one side of the sidewalk  is a column with a year on it.  On the other side of the sidewalk are engraved walls depicting what was happening during that time.  If one walked the entire park you would have the entire history of Nashville.

How's this for the old with the new?
Doesn't that look strange?

We were very disappointed.  They had just had the last show of the season. We were not able to get tickets for a performance here they were getting ready for the Rockets to come for a performance and we couldn't ever take a tour.

CM A's were going to take place here the next day.

We left home and that first day going through VA this is what it looked like and I asked---- We are going south why?????

Before we left home we had a lovely visit with our son David and family.  This is our grandson Garrett playing drums with the band at the football game.
This is our grand daughter Isabella in the black
This was senior recognition night so proud parents, David and Erica, got to walk their daughter across the football field.
It was an exciting night for Izzy
There was a dinner in the cafeteria after the game for the seniors and their families. It was lovely evening.
The week before this we were able to see our grand daughter Holly win yet another game. She is the goalie don't mess with her. Believe me she's got it covered.
