This was our base camp so to speak and where we stored the camper when at Karen's.
I feel down and ended up a huge skin tear on my right arm. I don't think the shot was worth it.
Lake Folsom reservoir at lowest levels since 70's.
Some very pretty views on our way to Folsom reservoir.
Very pretty ride on our way to Folsom reservoir.
Nicky loves outdoor dining because he gets to go too. We stopped here on the way home from Folsom Reservoir and had some of the best pizza I've ever had.
Sheep cleaning up the field after the field was harvested. You can almost see the mountains in the background. As usual there is so much smoke from the fires it's hard to see.
This is now what we call California brown. After a while it loses it's beauty.
This is how they get water to the many fields in the valley.
Taken on my morning walk around Lake Minden
Just as the sun is beginning to set over the lake.
Boat races on the lake.
This is how the water is moved to the fields that need it.
Our stay here was very hot in the triple digits quite a few days.
This is a helicopter dropping men off at this power pole to work on it.
I forgot to put this on the last post. Karen's new apartment.
We are at Soledad Canyon in Acton, CA now and will get a blog together soon. Hot here too but no triple digits.

Helping Karen move to her new apartment
We were so glad we were here at the time that Karen had to move so we could help her through it. There was so much to do and the boys were just back in school, Karen's master classed had started and she just started a new job.
Lee and 2 day workers were able to get her moved over in one day with a u haul trailer. We slept there the first night but there were boxes everywhere that was on Wednesday. By Thursday night, there was a sense of order starting to develop. By Friday it looked like home and only a few boxes remained to be unpacked. I am so glad we got to do this with Karen and so glad she will be in such a tranquil environment for the next 3 years till the boys are out of school.
Pictures hung and this is only day two.
Putting shelves together for the bathrooom
Windows and decking all around
Boys room
Beautiful view from Karen's deck. No the boat is not hers.
where Karen and I like to have coffee
Such great bird watching from the deck
Daddy put Karen's swing up
Nicky and Sporty had a good time visiting with one another. He is such a good dog and about 6 months younger than Nicky.
I miss my boys and I had such a good time with them.
Thank God Karen and I will have eternity together because we have been short changed here on earth.
We love our CA family
Loving you with all my heart till our next visit.

Old Town Sacramento
Today we put Nicky in the jeep and decided to go to Old downtown Sacramento. It was a beautiful day sunny and about 82 degrees. It was lovely walking through the old downtown area. We met a lot of very nice people and a lovely English couple from Manchester, England. Nicky was a hit. Children wanted to pet him and adults wanted to know what kind of dog he is. All and all it was a lovely day. Later that day we went into Yuba and got gas at Sam's only $2.60 today.
The old and new.
Nicky letting the children pet him.
Sacramento is know as a city with many trees and we found that to be true. All the roads are lined with nice shade trees.
There was some kind of rally going on at the capital so we didn't go there today. Perhaps, sometime next week.

The day after we arrived Karen had a business meeting downtown so we went with and and strolled along the water front.
Our California girl.
The trails close to Karen's house are great for bird watching.
We took a hike with Karen to Ring Mountain. Beautiful trail and view at the top was spectacular.
