Fort Myers, Florida

We are at the Groves RV Resort in Fort Myers Florida.  We will be here for November and December. Even this early the traffic to the beach is bad.  One must be on the beach by 9:30 and off by 2:30 to avoid the traffic. It is lovely there though and Santibel and Captiva and Lovers Key are close by but again the crowds and they really sock it to you for parking plus the bridge over to Santibel is $6.00.

We definitely prefer Venice there is less traffic and there is no parking fee at the beach.

I love going over to the causeway and playing with Nicky in the water. He absolutely loves the beach.

Nicky is 11 years old and he just finally realized that he can swim.

There is no traffic over to the causeway and it is a lovely place to sit and Nicky has the nice calm water to play in.

Saw this little guy on the beach and just had to take a picture of him.

The following are pictures of our good friend's dog Miss Molly

Now that is relaxing

We had a visit from our good friend Mark and his dog Teddy.  We will be babysitting Teddy over Christmas which is a good thing.  I need the distraction. I am very homesick and not looking forward to the holidays.

This is a picture of Ed and Janie's place on the Florida panhandle. You can see our rig and theirs there are a total of 3 RV slots on the property.

That's it for now more Fort Myers later.

Ed and Janie Jenkins

Ed and Janie are dear friends and we so enjoyed our time with them.  We were only there a week which was way too short but had a great visit.  We are so happy for them and their home there.  It is lovely and just right for them and they have really nice friends there.
They live on the Florida Panhandle in a town called DeFuniak Springs.  It is the perfect size, nice downtown, nice places to eat, nice parks and no traffic.  They are about 1/2 hour from all those fabulous beaches and Destin. All in all it is perfect and they live in a very quiet friendly neighborhood.

View from their dock.  As the light changes throughout the day, you get so many glorious views from here.

Twice a day Miss Molly and Ed venture out to the boathouse to feed the fish.

Breakfast out at a nice local restaurant.

Janie's very good friend Jerry whom never changes.  She just stays beautiful and young at heart. She is a fantastic artist and I am lucky to have been given one of her paintings.

Out to dinner with very good friends of Ed and Janie's.

I know he is up there and I am not leaving until he comes down.

I'll say when I am coming in!!!

Ed and Janie's house and Ed's shop on the left.

This is our RV parked at Ed and Janie's there is another RV spot to the left.  There is a garage and two shop buildings in front of it then the breezway and the back of the house.

Trip over to the beach.  Love the Gulf. My favorite water in swim in.

Jim and Jane I hope this gives you both a better idea of where Ed and Janie live.  If you ever get over here again the four of us can drive down in the RV and visit with them. Am I tempting you yet?

We all miss you very much.
